About Anthony

I'm a 25 year resident of Fayette County having lived here since 1995.  My wife, Carrie, my stepdaughter, Tanner Haverty, and I currently live on Opossum Creek Road in Hico here in Fayette County.  Carrie is employed as a teacher with the Nicholas County Board of Education and Tanner is a recent graduate of Midland Trail High School who is pursuing a career in nursing.
We share our small farm in Hico with our four dogs, Dakota, Riley, Willow, and Jesse, our four cats, Pumpkin, Boo, Mia, and Seven, our four horses, Winchester, Sundance, Lilly, and Seneca, and last, but certainly not least, our sixteen chickens. We call Fayette County home because we love the rural community and the opportunities that Fayette County provides to enjoy outdoor recreation in an absolutely beautiful surrounding. We enjoy fishing, hunting, hiking, and riding horses to name a few of the activities in which we regularly participate.

I obtained a bachelor of science degree with a major in animal and veterinary science from West Virginia University in 1989 graduating magna cum laude. I obtained my law degree from West Virginia University graduating in 1995 with a juris doctor degree.

Immediately following law school, I move to Fayette County to further pursue my love of the outdoors and to take advantage of numerous outdoor recreation opportunities.

I began my legal career in 1998 when I accepted a position with the Cabell County, West Virginia Public Defender Office in Huntington, West Virginia.

Late in 1998, I accepted a position with AppalRed (now Legal Aid of West Virginia) in Beckley, West Virginia as a staff lawyer serving clients in both Fayette County and Raleigh County.

After working for AppalRed for one year, I took a chance on myself and in December of 1999 I opened my law practice, the Ciliberti Law Office, PLLC, in Fayetteville,West Virginia. I have provided legal services through my law practice for over twenty years to the citizens of Fayette County and other counties in West Virginia. In my private practice, I provide legal services in the areas of divorce and other family court matters, criminal defense, personal injury, bankruptcy, Social Security disability, deeds, wills, and powers of attorney.

In December of 2002, our current Circuit Judge and then Prosecuting Attorney, Paul M. Blake, Jr., offered me the position of Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, which I accepted.  I was able to maintain my private practice while working as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and I served the citizens of Fayette County, West Virginia as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney from December of 2002 through June of 2007. I resigned my position as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney to devote my time to growing my private practice.

During my legal career, I have been lead counsel in thirty-seven trials.  Twenty-six as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, nine as a criminal defense attorney, and two civil trials.

Let's put my twenty-one plus years of legal experience and extensive trial experience to work for the citizens of Fayette County, West Virginia and let's make Fayette County a better place to live, work, and visit.
